Some moms have asked me “should breastfeeding hurt”! My answer to this is NO, but that it invariably does. With all my five babies, breastfeeding hurt at one point or another until my breasts got used to nursing and the baby learned how to latch. I certainly had moments where the pain during nursing was so bad that I said OUCH!
Breastfeeding Tips for Newborns
Pain during nursing is normal in the early days of breastfeeding, but there are steps you can take to treat it and prevent it from getting too extreme.
