Okay, so we all know those single dose laundry detergent pods make our lives easier – fewer sticky messes and no more heavy jug lifting – but where you see convenience, your baby might see a yummy treat. And can you blame them? They certainly look like creamy bite-size candies and the Tide Pods are even sold in a container that resembles a candy jar!
In the last 20 days the poison control center has received close to 180 calls about from parents whose toddlers have swallowed the pods, which usually results in vomiting and gasping.
So do yourself and baby a favor and remember to keep your laundry detergent out of reach or in a baby-proofed cabinet. Also, write this number down, put it on your fridge and in your cell phone - 1-800-222-1222 for Poison Control anywhere in the U.S.
